First Responders

I work with individuals who are experiencing a range of challenges related to their work as first responders. These may include workplace stress, or life stress associated with balancing work and home life, and relationships with their partner and family. First responders are often skilled at compartmentalizing their emotions which can be helpful at work, but can cause difficulties at home when they struggle to be present and open with their loved ones.

The process of getting released to return to work after either an injury, either on duty or off duty can be  very challenging.  Many new issues may arise- managing financial stress, the pain, uncertainty and frustration of recovering from physical injury, and processing the reality that work life on the other side of injury may look quite different.

First responder life is tough, and with it often comes pain – physical pain from years on the job or emotional pain related to compassion fatigue, relationship stress or financial struggles, as well as interrupted sleep patterns and work schedules that are often out of sync with the Monday - Friday family schedule. Through counseling sessions, my clients are able to work towards processing and managing their pain, fears and anxiety, and gain a better understanding of themselves and their feelings.

Ultimately, my goal is to help you feel understood, listened to, and empowered to live your best life. Together, we will work towards creating a future that is free of pain and full of possibilities.
